DC was so great!!!  I had such a fun time meeting up with several people -- and at the same time, I was able to really spend time with everyone.  Last year when I came to town, I felt there was no time, and I had not really seen people.  There were several whom I missed.  I think the key difference this time was having my car and having Heidi with

Hey Julia - Great to see you and Heidi during your visit! I just wanted to mention briefly that public libraries usually have a huge selection of books on tape/cd. Also, the chain restaurant Cracker Barrel has some sort of book on tape deal where you can basically rent out books-on-tape/cd for a small weekly charge. It's good for when you're traveling 'cause the restaurants are located along the interstates and you can exchange for new cds when you're finished with the old ones.
