Language Poll

I need to collect some very loose, unscientific data about how others feel about their language abilities (or lack thereof) for a linguistics course I'm taking this semester. I'd really appreciate it if you'd take the time to fill out this short poll:

Your text box is too short! Please consider making text boxes maxlength=255 in the future rather than leaving it at the default of 50. Thanks :)

Thanks for your input. Unfortunately, the poll builder I use won't let me make them any longer, and that's why I put there that people should elaborate in the comments if they wanted to say more than a couple of words.

Thanks for taking the poll!

Which poll builder do you use - LiveJournal's built-in one? If you create a text box there, you can choose a "size" (default 30) and a "maxlength" (default 50), and you'd only have to change the maxlength value before saving the poll.

No, I was using the XJournal one. I'll have to use that one in the future. Thanks. :)

I have some French and some Japanese, but not enough to carry on any sort of complex or in depth conversation. I love to travel, but always feel ashamed that others have to accomodate me in order to communicate. I'm glad so many people speak English, it makes my life easier for sure, but regardless of its broad usefulness, I feel a bit ashamed and naive that I'm really only fluent in one language, while it seems most anyone who lives outside of America has at least two. I'd really like to speak at least two or three others fluently and I'm working on it (but it takes so much time!)
