stress is sometimes a good thing

So I've figured it out, maybe. The reason I think everyone has been in a slump lately is because the amazing year of 2005 for most is lurking over us. That year for me was the best year ever, but I didn't care about being broke and disappointing my family. I was drinking 24/7 jumping from job to job which wasn't realistic happiness, but I wasn't ( Read more... )

As awesome as 2005 was, I think it's important to not get caught up in the past. Nostalgia has a way of covering up the bad times and letting you only see events through a prism of good times. People always have trials and hardships that they never like when living them. If you really look back and remember all the details you might be able to realize there were things you didn't think were so much fun at the time. Maybe things were different for you. I had a lot of fun in high school (and a lot of fun leaving high school) but there was a lot of crap I'd rather not return to, as well. I'd rather look at what I have now and make the most out of it rather than trying replicate something in the past (which is what people usually try to do when they focus too much on what they've "lost").

Anyway, I hope things work out for you. I like that you still regularly do updates. I'm bad at that.

That's very sightful and reading it back I agree with you. 2005 to me was full of good times, but there was sooo much bullshit that went down. I guess I focus on that year because I miss not being a grown up. Back then I thought I was, but I was still having fun because I wasn't really grown up I just partied like a 21 year old haha. This year is again about transition just like last year, but I've still had some amazing times.

Keeping my lj updated helps me vent and analyze my current situations. Also getting feedback from others def helps. Anyway how are you?!

I'm doing pretty well. At this point I'm biding my time until I get out of the navy (about 1.5 years left) and get back to school. I've had a pretty good break. In the mean time, I'm make the most of the opportunities military life affords me (specifically lots of travel). How are you doing other than your apparent boy troubles? ;-)

Sounds like you've been busy. I'm glad you're doing well. I've been okay. Just figuring my life out right now. I've been having an identity crisis lately, but it'll pass
