Updates, Opening and Introductions

It's November 15 in my side of the world (GMT +8:00), and we're "officially" opening the comm. The pre-opening was to see if anyone had questions or complaints that we could deal with before the official sign ups, but as most of you already know, we already sent invites to people who signed up so that we don't have backlog

What started you on avatar?
I've been seeing it in nick for ages but naru-naoe opened the net downloaded episodes one day and made me watch the series straight before my board exams. I was hooked.

Have you written for other series?
Written. For Ranma 1/2 (which needs heavy revising) and for Inu Yasha which is incomplete. *shrugs* I haven't finished reading the manga yet.

Where do you store your other fanfiction?
Everywhere. It was originally sent to FFML (Fanfiction Mailing List) back in the 1990's, fannish drift happened, fanfiction.net opened and I moved there after FFML repeatedly got shut down (server problems). It's also in mediaminer.org, Ficwad, livejournal of course. And finally... archive of our own. Where I am quite content to end my fic archiving days.

Do you already have an idea of what to do for this big bang?
If I don't get too swamped with moding and ER duties I am writing an east asian mythology in Avatar World. Probably an AU. Because I can't write politics and I've already written enough smut cultural re-education for

TV tropes, haha I never even heard of TV tropes until someone approached me two months ago about their Kaiketsu Zorro articles.

EVA. I've watched it. Not my cup of tea. Shinji was just way tooo depressing and Asuka was... so so. But I did watch the movie. :)

What started you on avatar? I was watching Nickelodeon one day and BAM- the first episode came on. When I saw the previews for it- I was a bit wary since that meant other shows were going to get kicked off and I'd seen a lot of new crap coming on at the time. But, I was instantly hooked.
Have you participated in other big bangs? No, this is my first one.
Have you written/drawn for other series? I've written fanfic for Yu-Gi-Oh!, Princess Tutu, Death Note, Phantom of the Opera, and assorted others.
Where do you store your other fanfiction/fanart? My FF.Net profile is my main archive but I also use a separate LiveJournal account. My AMVs are all stored on my Youtube.
Do you already have an idea of what to do for this big bang? Yes. To explain it briefly- it's stemmed off another of my fanfics called "Spirit of the Mask," in which I use the Blue Spirit as a separate entity. But, for this big bang, I'm planning something Zuko/Mai (obviously) with some Blue Spirit elements (Zuko as the Blue Spirit, by the way. Not a separate

Blue Spirit!Zuko fics have been lacking in the ff world. Hurray you :) If no one was doing that particular line I was going to do it sometime. Not for this big bang though. :)

What started you on avatar? TV Tropes. I was curious as to the kind of show that thousands of especially discerning nerds would gush about so much, and I'd seen a couple of episodes before (I think "The Waterbending Scroll" was the very first one I'd seen), so I decided to watch it. And I've been hooked ever since!

Have you participated in other big bangs? Nope. I'm pretty new to writing fanfic in general.

Have you written/drawn for other series? I did a little bit of fanfic for the Dragonriders of Pern series, but it was pretty awful so I stopped. Beyond that, I write and draw mostly my own projects and have been doing so since I was little.

haha! While I started watching Avatar when it first came out- I stopped watching it after the second season and it took me FOREVER to finally finish the series! (I finally managed it earlier this year, I think? haha) And I've just lately started writing fanfic for it.

Dragonriders of Pern... by Anne Perry? I read it when I was 12 I think. It was one of the things that hooked me on dragons. For some odd reason.

Little scenes into a big story sounds like a good plan. -_-; I always fail doing that because I never get the transitions right though. So I write a ton of one shots.
