I've had to increase the number of Friends here at LJ just to keep content to read. I have 4 times friends here that you do and I still don't get a lot of messages popping up.

I have started using LJ as a RSS reader which works reasonably well.

I, like you, haven't been posting as much as I did but I realize that If I don't post something there isn't any content for others so the pool gets smaller.

I make it a point of saying something to those who post that they haven't been on in a long time as encouragement. I think we are loosing a lot to Farce book which appears to be easier to them but sells a lot of information about there users.

Well, I looked at f*cebo*k yesterday, and most of my friends seemed to have 'moved' there!

I ABHOR f*cebo*k. Poorly organized - very difficult to find posts, etc, etc.

i have lost about 85% of my friends here on LJ. They have moved on to being teenage girls (twittertwittertwitter), blogger, or tumbler. i may move to blogger, but wont stop my free membership here.

My garden blog is with blogger. I'm not sure which I like better, Blogger or LJ, as far as format and that kind of thing goes.

Moving to facebook is not turning yourself into a teenage girl. It's abandoning a site with many people who don't really care about you, and are too interested in themselves. They continue to post and post and post. But they never read.

That was always the complaint that I heard. No matter what they post, nobody responds.

On my yahoo Longhair Biker page (for instance) although there's really only 10-15 active posters. But we average 40-50 posts a week, and many are interactive responses to other posts. Ditto for facebook.

Here, it's like everybody's a top, nobody's a bottom.

Maybe you're different, since I don't know you, so please don't take this personal.
