Pre-Diabetes. Hemoglobin A1C is 5.9% .2% away from the Diabetes threshold.
So, no meds. Eat right and exercise, lose 20lbs and things should be better.
Piece of cake. Oh wait - no cake.
Easy as pie - No, no pie either.
Simple as un-buttered popcorn. Yum.

And contrary to popular belife amongst the sugar eating crowd, you dont have to convert to the total sugar free cooking scheme. There are lots of foods out there that are naturaly low in sugar. You just gotta get used to enjoying their natural un-sugared flavour

And it's ok to eat the things you like, the key to losing weight and lowering your blood sugar levels is moderation. At least that is what works for me. I hated having to diet and for years struggled with losing weight and being happy with what I was having to eat. One day I just decided to stop all the low carb, low sugar diets and just lowered the portion sizes of the usual foods I liked to eat, lucky for me I've always liked my vegies and fruits anyway! It's kept me from going crazy, mostly! Don't get me wrong though. You still have to be smart about what you eat, but you can do it without making yourself crazy from missing the foods you like to eat.

I've lost close to 100lbs since starting the BYETTA but about a year after starting the BYETTA I had to start taking insulin too, it happens even when you do all the right things. But take care of yourself bud, and you may live the rest of your life only needing to diet and exercise!
