Kitties

So, when Al went to drop our lease off over at the office today, he picked up a sheet that had the fees for having pets.

If I wanted to get a kitten or ferret (under 1 year of age), there would be a total of $500 in fees and an extra $10/month. If I wanted a kitten or ferret over 1 year, there's a total of $350 in fees and the extra $10. WTF ( Read more... )

It sucks that they charge fees like that, I've seen it normally between $250 and $500 for the security deposit. ;/

Well, there's the non-refundable deposit, and then there's the refundable deposit. It's ridiculous; I don't understand the need for 2 deposits for 1 animal. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

I agree. But, on the paper, it says "XX non-refundable deposit" and "XX refundable deposit". I always thought a deposit was something you got back, unless there was damage. Oh well.

Declawing a cat is so cruel.. if you ever get one, don't do it!

Since your apartment complex sucks, you can come play with my kitties whenever you want! :D

Ya know, I worked at a vet's office, and all of the cats that got declawed came through the surgery well. If we do get a cat, I may ask about SoftPaws (www.softpaws.com). Or, I may see if they're ok with just the fronts declawed. I do feel the cat should have some sort of defense, and rear claws are better than no claws.

I'd love to come play whenever I wanted, but I'm poor :( Maybe when I become a nurse, we'll move back out that way!!

I also meant to put "I know, I know... it'd be like ripping off our first knuckles"... Plus, if I do adopt a kitty, I'd go to the humane society to do it, and a lot of cats there are already declawed.
