Oh so nice to be home sleeping in my own bed . What a wonderful time I had in Baltimore with
fullygoldy the food alone was worth the trip. Spending time in upper Maryland always does me good. It seems about every 10 yrs or so I have to just spend some time remembering the past and appreciating the present. I am not sure if everyone experiences ( Read more... )

I had crabs in MD once with my dad -- I love bay seasoning!

It wasn't *that* hard to read. I just imagine you saying it and it sort of smooths out the rough edges. ;->

Ok Live Journal just hates me. I know this entry is out of skew. It is supposed to read " What a wonderful time I had in Baltimore with Fullygoldy, the food alone was worth the trip" and there is supposed to be a cut in there as well. Lj will NOT let me do this in any way, I have edited, cut , pasted and even retyped and reposted. LJ just hates me so dont put the bad read on me. I did my best...scheesh!

Glad you're back and feeling better. Mmmmm... crab cakes... have yet to have a really good one... I fear I'll end up having to make it myself, since we won't be getting to any coast any time soon, it appears.

Even though I said goodbye to Milwaukee as home a long time ago, I still love going back for visits and have special places I like to go to remember. The first time I took busman back to my old neighborhood, I ran a stop sign and missed a couple other traffic things for all the looking and pointing I was doing. I'm hoping to get back there before mid-October, when my favorite old department store, Goldman's, closes for good.

I have similar feelings about the upper and eastern edge of the red river valley. Only natives seem able to apreciate it. Something about it being completely flat. :) But I love the plants and the swamps. I love the long cold winters and short precious summers. There is a juniper tree one inch high. That is as tall as it gets. But it spreads fifteen feet or more. And the oaks rarely get over ten feet tall. Choke cherries, june berries, rasberries, once a wild strawberry. Wild cucumbers....
Yeah. I know the feeling.
