I borrowed a copy of Under the Dome from the library and tried to read it. I got through maybe 100 pages before I gave up. I was just too bored. Two of my library co-workers had the same experience. So, I have to say I admire you for reading the book not once, but twice through to give it a fair chance.

Plus I found myself not giving a rat's ass about the characters. It felt like King just marched a bunch of pawns across the pages along with his usual overdescribed bodily functions/mishaps/injury scenes. I just didn't care.
