that's some fucking crazy shit. i bet the ability to have lucid dreams is like a byproduct of all your tea drinking and tai chi doing. you're just so in touch with your inner self.

The best part is that it actually was around 5:54 at the time of the dream. I wish I could have dreams like that. All of mine are vague and generic.

Lucid dreams actually occur during the first stages of sleep, it is only at this point that your brain is still "awake" enough to realize that it's asleep. Once you've passed the deepest part of your sleep (about an hour into it) and start REM cycles, your brain begins to delve into/clear out its unconscious sections, and dreams relating to your hopes/dreams/fears occur. If you'll notice, lucid dreams tend to begin with something mundane - in your case, watching a movie - thus occuring while your brain is still operating in a roughly conscious state.
