A much-beloved professor at our law school, Dale Carpenter, decided to take a leave of absense next semester. He is my Constitutional Law professor, and teaches all the students from Sections A and C. He's a small-l libertarian, but people of every political ( Read more... ) -
Back in the USA
Well, the trip is over now, and I'm back in the USA. I've got to say that I'm happy to be back; three weeks of struggling with languages, staying in a different place every night, trying to find a place to park and eat and buy a new map of a new city... it was long enough ( Read more... ) -

Since I last wrote, I travelled to Frankfurt an der Oder, then into Poland, where I stayed in Torun and Kwidzyn, back to Frankfurt an der Oder, and today to Berlin ( Read more... ) -
Lüneburg
There is no such thing as a bad meal in Germany, I think. With the exception of a fast food place that I had no choice but to go to on a Sunday night, every meal I've had has been exceptional. Though I normally try to stick to the regional German cuisine, even the Chinese and Turkish meals that I've had have been great. Oh... and the beers... ( Read more... ) -

I'm in a better mood now than the last time I posted, though it got worse before it got better. There are certain things that I "know" from reading them in books and from my vague recollections from being here back in 1998, but I still wasn't prepared for. Ulm
Heute bin ich in Ulm. It's a smaller city, with smaller streets. I drove on the Autobahn in a shiny new Mercedes-Benz from the Munich airport here; the Autobahn wasn't as scary as trying to navigate these tiny Straßen und Gassen. The jetlag's finally gone, too.
