Nice horses! You look very professional in your pictures. I just do small-town gymkhanas & I can't even do them anymore because my horse hurt his leg. Whats the biggest tip you'd give to a wanna-be rodeo girl.
Thanks! I started out running local playdays on a little mare we bought for $950 and eventually turned her into a 2D barrel horse and 21 second pole horse.. She was a diamond in the rough, that's for sure. After a couple years of running locally, I worked my way up to where I am now. Basically as corny as it sounds, never give up. There've been so many times for me that it seemed like givin up was the only option, but you just gotta keep on keepin on, give your best every time, and don't sweat the small stuff.
You've been around a while haven't you? I thought I'd commented with you before. Can I ask you a few questions?
Where are you from? What organizations if any do you do?
I'm moving to AZ soon and NBHA is crap there, IBRA is pretty far away, but I can run it, but my Titan horse is almost 1-d and I'd like to start doing rodeos to push myself to the next level. Any tips? Hehe
Yep I'd been around for a while.. just never introduced myself!
I'm from Arkansas. I compete in open rodeos, high school rodeos, and local rodeo/barrel associations/jackpots.
I'd prefer a rodeo to a barrel race anyday. The atmosphere's are so different. Nothin beats a rodeo atmosphere.
Lets see there's High School Rodeo[NHSRA], College rodeo, random open rodeos that anyone can enter.. Most states have state wide associations. Arkansas has ACA and ARA. There's also associations that are international like IPRA.
