Since my flight out of Sydney's been delayed I figured it would be a good time for a little entry. I think one of the bigger factors which has led to my logging entries stopping a lot over the past few months is that in my new office, with it's hot-desking and open plan, is a very difficult place to have any privacy in terms of what one has on ( Read more... ) -

Houses are work
After 2 weeks of pulling up carpet, patching walls, painting walls and removing laminate flooring the house is starting to look like...a complete and total disaster zone ( Read more... ) -
Optimism
While it was a long weekend in Australia it wasn't much of a chance for relaxation as the extra day was spent working away on the house in our vain attempt to continue the needed renovations. At this point the priority is to get it into shape so that we can actually live there, which means that we need the floors/tiles/carpets done for a few rooms ( Read more... ) -
Let's have an update
So we're now officially home-owners once again. Last Friday, after much struggling with the legalities and horrors of home loans in Australia we got possession of the house later in the afternoon. Saturday and Sunday was mainly spent in preparation for painting, scraping down of walls, removing outlets and switches, etc. There's definitely more ( Read more... ) -

I'm feeling better than I was when last I posted. With it now only a few days away from getting the house there's a bit of a "light at the end of the tunnel" feeling, I just hope it isn't a train ( Read more... )
