I have been going to school in Lakeland for 4 years. I consider myself pretty fluent in music and what is good and what is not. I haven't really listened to the local scene until this year actually. The reason I got started because one of my best friends at school happens to be the Drummer of the Crayons

i think im getting a late start here but im gonna say it anyway. i am brantley from death after texas. honestly i dont like most of the stuff my band puts out. and i have to say, its because it sounds like the whole holler/emo/whatever thing. there is much more timeless music to be made. i've come to realize that no matter how many different kinds of music there are in the world everyone will have there favorites and if this kind of music is someone's favorite then it doesnt bother me as long as they dont forget that there is more to life than what they are listening to. i dont make a habit of listening to thrusday or music like that so much as i do other kinds. but the music i ended up playing just happen to be what it is. i do give props to the crayons for sounding the way they do but only because we need different types of music. but then again just because they are different than what's in lakeland doesnt make them good. and that goes for every band everywhere of all talent levels. overall id have to classify the crayons
