Golden Peony???? nevr heard of that. but if you want haute Chinese cuisine, you can check out the Chinese restaurants at the Sheraton or Four Seasons Hotels. there's also this place called Jade at the Fullerton Hotel, but personally I think the food there is over-rated especially considering the price.

Have tried madam saigon - OK Lah. Not fantastic

Akane - yes, yes and YES. If you want I"ll cut and paste a post I made on my visit there (or tinymich can get it for you). I was going on company account, as a treat for my work there so I called and told them - hey two people going. budget is SGD150 per person, can you work out a menu for me. (because they import items from japan that arn't listed on the menu see). I went with the then bf who doesn't eat vege/some seafood - and i can't take prawns/crabs/lobsters. Anyway it turned out fantastic - waitress suggested items I've never eaten before in my life, all fresh. Service was great too - they'd keep changing my cup of green tea even before I had a chance to sip, just coz it was getting cold.
