man, i missed it (well, i didn't really have a choice -- going to work kind of supersedes watching the Oscars, haha)...not that i stick around to watch the entire ceremony nowadays, anyway.
i agreed with many of your points. most importantly: - yay! to Jason Bateman, Inglourious Basterds (Christoph Waltz completely deserved it!), Up, and your friend's Maggie Gyllenhaal comment - uh...no to Seacrest, SJP, Miley Cyrus, and Tyler Perry
was Colin Firth there for A Single Man? was that even nominated? *goes to check* oh! Best Actor! and Christopher Plummer for The Last Station? awesome. (sorry -- now i'm just running real-time commentary on your LJ.) Un Prophete was good, but not quite Oscar-worthy (if we still use the term "Oscar-worthy" to mean fucking amazing), so i guess the Academy agrees there. i want to see The White Ribbon! and now i'm sad to find out District 9 didn't get anything at all.

I like yours cause it's shorter than mine. But we did the same thing with Colin Firth. We're good people.
