Year in Review

Jan 03, 2005 16:29

This past year started off more-or-less like all the others: completely unnoticed, owing to the hangover. I don't much care for facing major milestones sober. Done that too many times to be anything but burned. . . anyway, it started off simply enough, and it went downhill just as fast as every other year ever did. Eh. Most of it's up for grabs, really. I'll start with Tim- he's the first kid I ever taught anything about magic, closest thing I've got to a proper apprentice. Me niece Gemma doesn't count, 'cos I've tried my best to point her away from what I do. Tim, on the other hand... well, that boy was going to be the greatest magician of his age, far as all the rest of us could tell, and a couple of us in what we like to call the Trenchcoat Brigade had to get him started off right. The kid's comin' along pretty nicely as a magician, but he's got a duplicate of himself, name of The Other, that's out to destroy Tim and assume his place. Woke up one morning with a bad, bad feeling about Tim, went to check on him, and look. Tim and the Other were tryin' to blow each other to kingdom come. Had to get involved, so I found me a brick, and the rest, as they say, is history.
