so this is a first scene. the rest of the scenes aren't much like it-other than this stylized intro the play is pretty normal. but the intro does set the tone. comment/email me if you want to read the rest. it's too long to post, but i'm looking for lovely draft readers. basic info: it's a one-act running at about 20 double-spaced pages for the ( Read more... )

ok my big suggestion: trash the name thea. its kinda a personal pet peve but i cant stand that name.
other than that i LOVE it! its fast paced and silly but "deep" (im not sure if thats the word 2 use) @ the same time. bravo!!
i'd love to read more, but im not as poetic or as deep as u so im not sure if id be the best draft reader but feel free to send it my way =)

Aw...having been involved in the naming of characters, I must object!

(Heh. But I love it! And, don't mind me- my primary association to Susanna is that we sit around on AIM making up names.)

send it over. i'd love to read it. i like the first scene--it's cute (but not in a nauseating way), and it's funny. :-)

is this a potential 1-act for the spring, or just something on your own?

very much a one-act for the spring, but it's allowed to be longish. i would really love your input. thanks.

i like it a lot...and there's tons of stuff i'm thinking about in reading it, but posting in a comment is too cumbersome and time-consuming at the moment (in theory i should be doing history reading for class tomorrow right now, haha)...so i'll send you a long-ish email. or hell, i'm coming home late friday night for october break and i'll prolly be getting lunch and/or coffee with frances, so maybe we can chat in person. or something. yeah. at any rate, i'll get my thoughts to you somehow. (i really like it a lot, so don't worry, it's not like i have a huge speech prepared where i rip it apart or anything. hehe.)

Oooh, I like it! It's funny, but pointed, but not overbearing. Is there more? Is there more that I can read?

You're great.

What a pretty peice of writing! (yes, pretty is the word). I think what will make or break this scene is who plays it. really. sometimes the cast matters more than others, and this is just one of those fragilly beautiful scenes which would be wonderful with the right people playing it. Can you send me the rest to read? Please?
we need to talk more!
love,
Molly

yes, i'll send it to you (post haste). there is a letter for you in the workings. i'm sorry it's been such a long time coming. we should talk more (soon). right now i'm in english class. the discussion topic: whales-why do we care? (we are reading moby-dick. it's the longest whale textbook ever, but i love it).
