I gave platelets yesterday for the first time in months and I regret to say that it was a really unpleasant experience. I suppose it's never super comfortable; I mean, there's a needle in your arm for 2 hours, but yesterday was the worst it has ever been. The actual donation process was uncomfortable. More than usual. We got a new computer. When things didn't work out for home improvements, this was plan B. It was going to be just a tad too expensive to redo our floors, so we got a new PC instead. I was playing with my kid this weekend and it reminded me distinctly of my younger years when I played with my own father. My son likes to go into a room, close the door and say "bye byes" then open the door, say "hi", giggle, then repeat. Well, eventually he closes the door all they way and can't get it back open. You have to check out this video of this thing they're making for the military. If nothing start at the 30 second mark and watch for like 30 seconds. This is a ROBOT. It's a gasoline powered quadruped ROBOT. It looks organic and it just blows me away how amazing it is.

For many years as a young man I did not always wash my hands after going to the bathroom. I did so probably 1 in 4 times. Something like that. Thing is, it wasn't every time.
