i think i must be really out of shape if some weeding did me in like it did...i am just hoping it was all the weeding from the weekend. and i do think it is, as the pain lessened as the week went on. but it showed itself in weird places, places where i am not usually sore. i have lower back pain when i am affected by something. this week, it ( Read more... ) -
summer fun
every summer i tell myself that i am going to do more with the kids on weekends.
and for the past many summers, most weekends i have failed.
but this year i am really trying. and doing, i think. because trying is the easy part!
last weekend we went out to Gale Woods Farm on Saturday and then to the Como Zoo on Sunday.

birdhouse in your soul
i am looking out our front windows, new windows at that since we *finally* had the original 1957 windows replaced in spring, and a mama duck and her 5 babies are waddling across our yard. this is a different mama than we have been watching, as she has only 3 babies. there is a creek across the street, so we always have water fowl in our yard, ( Read more... ) -

I was trying to write about these days in Seattle and Friday Harbor but having only this phone to use is too annoying right now.
Don't get me wrong, i am lucky to have this phone, but it is no real keyboard.

I decided to enlarge the front perennial garden, mostly because it needed new border, and i figured if i was going to dig down enough to put in a new border, i might as well make it worth it. two days in a row
went to see The Lightning Thief with Alex tonight. we both read the whole series and once we saw that it was made into a movie, a date was made.
i was a Greek mythology geek as i grew up, reading any and everything i could get my hands on, so finding this series was a dream come true. and i think Alex felt the same, as he really enjoys reading ( Read more... ) -
