I have been volunteering at this clinic for the last two years and it is truly a peaceful, healing place for wildlife and people. I have the priviledge of feeding orphaned birds and animals (you wouldn't believe how noisy 12 fledgling chimney swifts can be when they know they are going to be fed!) I saw someone had posted the YouTube video of Nora, the piano playing cat, on a friend's blog and I was struck again by the great good fortune I have to live where I do in Philadelphia. Peter and i went to class yesterday to learn about the surgery and after care etc. The surgery is on August 21st, and I think that's going to be a very long day. It takes three hours, and with the prep etc I guess I'm going to be waiting a good 4 to 5 hours.
