I can't imagine how difficult your work has been. I greatly admire your efforts, fighting against such terrible odds. Thank you for having been there for those who have needed you.

You must be exhausted. I hope you are able to spend some time resting and relaxing. You've clearly earned that!

Thanks! I do take time to relax and do the things I like to do. It has been important for balance in my life. And as of the end of March there will be more time. Things will fall into place for the future. I already see some things happening so life is good! Thanks for your comment and for reading!

Thank you for sharing and thank you for all your hard work!

It is ridiculous the level of difficulty sometimes. I once spent ages on the phone with a hospital trying to book a patient in to an appt and they were insisting the patient had to do so themselves despite the patient being deaf and them having no email or text option available for the appt booking.

Best wishes for your retirement :)

Oh hospitals are the worst when it comes to providing interpreters for persons who are deaf! They just don't get it. And sometimes it's the individual receptionist who seems to think they have ultimate control rather than just figuring out the situation. Sigh. Thanks so much for reading and your comments!

You have fought the good fight and made a difference in so many people’s lives. I am glad you’ll be able to focus on yourself after retirement although I think you’ll always be drawn to helping because that’s who you are.

I work in libraries and accessibility is always on our minds. I too am often surprised by how difficult it is for people to get the help they need - particularly when it comes to mental health - in a country as prosperous as ours.

I'm starting to work with our local library on a grant to increase accessibility. It'll be fun to do something different. We have a wonderful library so it'll be great to have some time to work with people there.

What a hard career - you do so much good but you have to always fight so hard. I'm glad you've helped to make a difference, and I am more glad you are almost to retirement! I hope it's a beautiful, colorful experience!
