I have to admit that I normally don't like period fics and read the first chapter you posted because there wasn't to much to read that night. However, I must also admit that I gotten hooked on this story and like it alot. It's interesting to see the different sides of Yannis and surprising about his relationship with the Commander. The Commander must truly know his adopted son well if he could pick up on Yannis's feeling for Jacobus so soon. It also explains why Jacobus's father doesn't like him, he most likely knows that he is not Jacobus's true father.

I just love this story more and more. you guys have done a GREAT job of bringing ancient Rome to life and plunking down Ennis (innis) and Jack (Jacobus) into it so convincingly.
