I like the last two artists you have listed. I especially liked the Spiral Woman.

oh yeah, that one is so great. i love how she does the fabric sculpture to do figurative work. it turns the busters on their asses!

I thought the Gormly stuff was pretty cool --especially the Derry one and the terracotta piece. I've never heard of him before either--so its always cool to discover someone new who is making interesting art. I've always loved Louis Bourgeois--she was making giant spiders about 10 yers ago and I loved those. The other two--were a little on the creepy side for me--but it could just be my mood.

he made those lil terra cotta fuckers each by hand. that one scares me! i read there's over 100,000 of them.

I just discovered Bourgeois. But I can't find the ones I like online. I like some of the stuff I saw here, and I LOVE that she does everything. Like, no media untouched. She is a revolutionary, putting women out there like that. talkin about sex like that. but she was doing what mark quinn was doing ages ago. i just can't find it. wierd bodies.
