It's coming along! I've been adding the vines and I'm having a ball. Though, I've figured out why my wrist has been hurting so much, it's the force of pushing/pulling the needle through so many layers of stitching. This effect is absolutely worth it ( Read more... )

Do you have one of those little blue plasticy "Needle Grabbers" ? Magnificent for getting a needle through built up spots - I wouldn't survive without mine. Very cheap.

I've had really good luck with using a set of pliers, or tweezers. I don't like to use them on the my really good needles.

I can understand how pliers might bend a needle.

A needle grabber certainly won't - it's only non-slip plastic. Non-slip means that you can get the needle through the layers successfully with the needle grabber wrapped around the needle.

$2.10 for 3 there. And they last until you loose them or the plastic eventually rots after a couple of years.

They really are worth giving a try!

And to keep doing all this beautiful artwork protect your wrists! Ice and ibuprofen. Sounds like you might have carpal tunnel. Do you have a wrist brace which might help stabilize your wrist as you're working?
