dog_father is gone until Sunday (#2 son is getting married tomorrow) so I get to break the news. *glee*

About 12:30 this afternoon, Yahoo! called dog_father with a very generous offer of full-time employment -- salary, benefits, stock options, etc. He accepted. He'll probably start Monday the 18th

Thank you -- you have no idea how excellent! All three of us have been on pins and needles these last two weeks, while he went through 2 sets of 4-5 hour interviews with the techies and then with the managers, and then awaited results. None of have any fingernails left. He's had two other actual interviews since January, and both times they passed on him (idiots!). Now we know what the Kindly Gods were saving for him...

It really is wonderful, as in "full of wonder." The happy dance is in full swing even as we speak! I can't even begin to tell you how cool this is -- apparently Yahoo! management is about as enlightened as it gets about time off, working from home, all the stuff that makes taking a job in godsaveusSunnyvale possible when one lives in Oakland. Still stoked...
