Remembrances Of Things Past?

Nov 05, 2005 21:49

Ok, here we go...

If you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now, even if we don't speak often, please post a comment with a memory of you and me. It can be anything you want- good or bad. When you're finished, post this little paragraph on your blog and be surprised (or mortified) about what people remember about you

You coming up to visit us and bringing fabulous clothes, eating lunch at the crepes place. Spending time with you is always nice.

Courtship Rite: you and I up the switchbacks of the holy mountain, profane vegetation thinning around us, from where it bunches along the half-frozen streambed, shirrupping insects making the most of the short winter day, the sun going behind the crest of the pass, pressing our faces to the trunks of the almost trees for their spicy-bitter scent. We glimpse the peaks beyond the pass, the wilderness of saline lakes and glaciers miles above the seaport where we began.
We glance at each other, shrug. Far enough we've come. To see the last light of day fade over the crest would be worth the climb. We press on.

Okay, you weren't really with me, and Kearsarge Pass is really on Earth, but still, you should have been there.

Another time. I'll visit SF over the January break.
Perhaps a profane cup of tea then?

Never used this 'thing' before, but here goes.

I worked with you for many years, so the list of memories is far to long to 'list', but the best recent memory is when you came up to visit a couple of years ago and you 'jumping' out of the car and into the air to demonstrate the new you. I will never forget that moment.

How lovely to hear from you! I remember that day very well indeed, especially the stunning view from your property and how wonderfully hospitable you and John were to a tired traveler. Thank you!
