The train ride to Xi'an was awfully noisy and smoky. I didn't sleep much, and what sleep I managed was interruped by loud train horns and abrupt stops. But, the train got me to Xi'an, and to my surprise, the cabs start at only 6 kuai and my hostel is 40 kuai cheaper per night than I booked it for. Why the hell wouldn't she let you try that tea? What a stupid bitch! Is it because you're American? Did you see any other people have a hard time trying tea with her? Bitchface.

And those guys were really weird - I wonder what they were up to. Hmm...I would post on craigslist and see if anyone's had that happen to them before.

All that aside, sounds like you're having a good time and, more importantly, having some good tea :o)

It's in a really touristy part of the city, just south of the city's Drum Tower in the Muslim Quarter. They're used to white people just buying jasmine tea, I think, and it's possible that they only had a few of those cakes and figured they could sell them to people without breaking into one.

I wonder if we get Craigslist in China...
