The rest of Hong Kong went superbly. After I said goodbye to Karen and Shan, I got down to tea shopping for real, spending many days sipping tea and many nights sipping whiskey at the bars.

Pu'er in Hong Kong is odd. I expected that all the tales in Kunming of rich Hong Kong merchants, teahouses, collectors would mean a great selection of young ( Read more... )

How much on average are you paying for accomodation around Taiwan?

right now, $450NT/night in Kaohsiung...hoping not to pay over $500NT for any night I'm here, though I'm sure new years will be costly.

$450NT is higher, but maybe it's because of the New Year/Xmas factor. The lowest prices I got around Taiwan was $200NT-$300NT.
