Andy Warhol was NOT a hack. He was an artist, my favorite, and a very creative one at that. His work was interesting because he took ordinary items, people and made them much more interesting than they are/were. He did NOT however make people pay a lot of money for it. Yes, he did portraits of famous people privately but all those rich assholes really have more than enough to spend on a picture of their face to hang in their living room, right? As you know, most artist gain more respect after they're dead, he had his moments but he wasn't a millionaire. His work like many other artist's in the 60's was abstract, therefore it wasn’t like he just pulled this out of his ass. it was popular at the time. He created "POPism" which changed the way people felt about art. And used mediums (silkscreen in particular) that were very complicated and not used during that time period. He DID NOT have AIDS although he was on the DL about being gay. He did not die of AIDS. First off, someone attempted to assassinate him and failed, but the real ( ... )

if you dont get it, our friend Matt here is doing a little something called Satire, you know writers use it sometimes, its a style of literature. Hes not serious ( well he is but not as serious as he wrote). Just thought I should clear that up :)

I didn't read that because it was too long. Chances are, you are defending Andy Warhol. I know he is your favorite artist, but I really don't care. I also know you will mention the AIDS. I know he did not die of AIDS. But his corpse is AIDS festered. Kind of like Uncle Fester from the Adams family. You will also say he created pop art. I also do not care. And I'm sure you'll say something about the gravestone under which he currently resides. The one I read was the real one. The one your friend traced on wax paper or whatever is the fake one. They buried a hobo under it.

what's the worst part?

i fill out the survey, keep the nickel and the free address labels, stick both in my top nightstand drawer and expect a t-shirt in the mail or something

then a week later, i get the same survey.
