So I went to say happy birthday to my dear friend.And no internet. Waited all day for it to come back one... only it didn't until Baker Son came down to investigate. So the lovely Satin, named appropriately Beaudecia, had eaten right through the cables - for the phone and the internet. Quietest day I've had in monthes!

In London safely. After days of brilliant sunshine (and sunburn for me), the rain caught up with us yesterday. It did not stop us from going out in it - me in my bright yellow poncho that I bought in Edinburgh as it threatened to rain on us at one stage - and taking a short walk to the River. Met Steve Jackson - creator of the Munchkin games - and gushed. I love Munchkin. Met Steve Foss, extraordinary artist and listened to his amazing stories. Went to two performances - one good, one not so good. Attended the masquerade - magic.

Finally had a chance to put a face and voice to the name Jean Lorrah who I have known through her writings since my first days in fandom, back in the last 1960's. Attended more IP panels and fandom/fanfic orientated ones with a view of reviewing my thesis for publication. For fun, had a great session of reading unnamed fanfic with the names ( Read more... )

After two days of flying, and an overnight stay in Seoul, we've arrived safely in London. Or more accurately in Silvertown where we are staying. This is part of the redeveloped/ing Docklands area and is across the river from LONCON 3, this years World Science Fiction Convention.
