Why? they perpetuate the same crap -- wear makeup, lose weight, get better sex, get fancy clothes .. as if this is all women are supposed to do.
I'd much rather read a psychology, science or video game magazine.

That'd depend on the person, what that person is looking for, and why though.
I like women's fitness magazines, because sometimes they'll have an article on health related topics like exercise moves, the antioxidants in tomatoes or how microwaving zaps the nutrients of your veggies, etc. I suppose makeup tips don't have to be bad... I sometimes look at them to see what's in or trying to be brought in, however I don't really wear makeup. I read articles on diets out of curiosity, but I have never been tempted to go on a diet. Sometimes they have yummy-sounding food recipes, but I usually don't cook with a cook book.
Oy, and psych magazines sometimes have articles on getting better sex, etc... Some women like that topic, which is why it's in the magazines.
