Nah. But you are the first to apply in a long time lifesizedbarbee February 1 2006, 13:20:19 UTC
I don't know, just not feeling it. I haven't heard of most of the bands you listed. That I think you're completley ingnorant inregards to punk. You've probaley never even heard of Television, but that's a band that knew their insturments.

Either way, just wasn't feeling it. Nothing personal

Television are definately ok, but i'd lump them closer to Post-punk. Which I have no problem with.

Their definetly punk. If you going by the generally accepted date of birth of punk (1977, year of the Ramone's first release) then they were old news by then. But by definition they came right after the first punk band. Iggy Pop and The Stooges

Yet, they're infinitely more talented than either the Ramones or the Stooges.

Whatever.

You have got to be the most confused person that I have ever came across.

Your opinions contradict themselves

You talk about getting drunk being a disservice to your self and your future, but then you go on to talk about not minding trying stuff.

You know it only takes one time, one small amount of any random drug to kill you? I don't think you did, otherwise you wouldn't be all about "trying stuff"

I think you don't mind trying stuff because it's convient for you to say it. Maybe you don't like the taste of beer, or wine, or whatever kind of alcohol you've had, but didn't want to admit to it because you wanted to "look cool" and take a politcal stance on something other than politics.

Speaking of politcs, you talk about how you hate people who ignore history. I don't believe that you know much about it. In case you didn't know- the original intention, and mostly still the intention of our Constitution is to give the people the power to run the government ( ... )

Ya know...

I just typed out a long winded response.

But I chose to leave it at this.

You're a fucking lier

i'm a third year history/international studies double major, and am going to be attending grad school

At 19? Bullshit

I can't wait to ban your access.

A lier? Hmm, well, if I'm anything, i'm not a liar. I was homeschooled since fourth grade, providing me with the chance to go to college locally during my high school years. This transfered in when I actually went to collge normally, taking care of one year. So in a sense, yeah, you're right - i'm a second year. But i'm graduating after three. So whats the point?

And i'm going to grad school, yes, but not by any grace of my own. My dad served in world war II (I'm the young kid in the family to say the least), and was awarded a service disability, and so the government is taking care my tuition so long as I attend a state school.

I think that many points being presented have little to do with music, which from my understanding is what this community is all about. That said, I vote yes. I don't agree with what you said about punk or with a few other things that you said, but it's a different perspective. You also have music taste from genres that I've never even heard of and that's good; music is about learning so perhaps you being in this community could teach the rest of us something and vice versa.

I would break with what everyone said and yes.
I don't agree with your taste in music, but that's not what this is about. It's about knowing cool people who care about music.

And Stalker??? Man, all I've heard is that's a long and tedious weird movie. From people who actually speak Russian...

I really should have expanded a bit about the music I listen to up there; it's kinda one sided. I get carried away sometimes...

Stalker? Yeah, it's really weird and long. I've only seen it a couple of times... had to watch it subbed; I dont speak russian. However, I really enjoyed it when I actually managed to sit through it. The Robert Rich/B. Lustmord album that was based off of it is what introduced me to it. As much as I like the movie, I must say the album of the same name by those two guys is a lot better.
