How can I describe my first real day of college? Puzzling, for one thing. I received my first official assignment, an essay, (horror of horrors, an ESSAY) that is due (horror of horrors, IS DUE) this Wednesday. What really makes this little scenario so bothersome? John Tucker Must Die was actually really funny.  I was pleasantly surprised.  I usually hate teen comedies, but this one was actually worth the $7.75 I didn't have to pay!

My favorite part of going to the movies is the previews.  They invariably inspire me with a sort of wondrous anticipation.

Well, I've gone and changed my whole dorm-room theme.  Returned my bedspread and my sheets and my shams and my bedskirt...and my lamp.  I started afresh.  I am much happier now.  My new bedspread is a quilt with prettyful retro-looking circles on it that are a variety of earthy (but somehow brighter, more cheery) colors.  It makes me smile.  I also ( Read more... )

Hmm, well, I've been thinking about re-dying my hair.  After venturing over to the "dark side" I'm starting to sort of want to go red.  Not bright, burnished copper, mind you.  More of a dark, subtle auburn.  My mother, of course, is dead set against it.  I don't know whether or not I'll allow this to deter me.  I dreamed I tried to dye my hair ( Read more... )

Marisa retrieved my cactus for me today.  She spotted him on a random car parked at Barnes and Noble (the scene of the original crime) and called me immediately.  We conferred over the minute details of Mr. Cactus's appearance and rapidly concluded that it was, in fact, him.  I later drove up to B & N and left a note on the girl's antenna reading:

Donnie Darko

Creepy, disturbing movie that made me burrow my face in a pillow on more than one occasion.  Don't really understand that film.  It scared me, yo.  No, really...it scared me.  I don't know why, as I didn't totally "get it," but it left me feeling generally unsettled and anxious.
