...tonight i had a truly crippling thought. what if there isn't anything to look forward to anymore?

seriously...

my soul is bereft with worry...

existential terrors, loneliness, mortality

Good lord, what's brought that on?

At the very least, you can look forward to knowing how it all comes out...

I know that worry. It is very scary.

Fortunately, sooner or later something does pop up that is look-forward-to worthy. At least it has thus far.

there's always something to look forward to, dear rebecca -- the something is always out there. it's our job to look forward to it, because it won't do that on its own.

i, for instance, am looking forward to one day making it out to your corner of the world, pouncing you, and giving you an enormous hug. i don't forsee it on the immediate horizon, but it's a warming and pleasant thought all the same. if you can't think of anything else to look forward to, i invite you to look forward to being pounced!

i hope today seems brighter =)

Yikes, this is a scary thought. But,

It's. Just. Not. True.

there's always good in the world... finally reading that book that you've never gotten to, starting a new job when you max out where you are, more skiing ;), sunny afternoons in the mediterranean, watching your kitties transition into beccacat worshippers, new shoes, martinis at happy hour after an unhappy day, kicking back with friends who've known you forever and seen you at your (un)best, coming to resolution with all that gd baggage - our parents' gift, the sun on your face and how it makes your hair warm. And, hammocks.

hope these make you feel better...

Wow, that seemed to come out of nowhere. Maybe you should stop letting Eeyore write your blogs.

I know that you, in particular, have many things to look forward to and it seems that you have someone very special to share those things with when they happen. You've just come through a pretty good year and you know that the best is yet to come for you.

If nothing else, one day we might get to witness a touchdown by the Browns' Offense in person!

Chin up! You're a great person with a wonderful support group behind you.
