Two Pieces of Happy News on a Wednesday

Two hours ago, I sent off the email with the latest set of revised files for the critique book. Okay, there are two tiny files still coming my way, but I don't expect any changes of real size, so I'm calling myself "done." I think the next step is the page design, and since I am completely artistically challenged, I am beyond pleased to think of ( Read more... )

Congrats on being done, and yes, I get the wimpness of not wanting my eyes sliced, thanks.

Someday there will be a better way to clear vision...

They told me about another way--similar to the surg for cataracts. They put an implant lense over your eye. Ick. :)

Yay! What a huge accomplishment!

The thought of slicing my eyes gives me the heebie jeebies. Stylin' glasses are much better IMO :)

Your glasses are ALWAYS so stylin. I'm not sure mine are that cool, but they're different than the last 2 years, so... I know. People do this lasik thing so casually, and I know it always works, but I'm not there yet unless I have to be!

Lasik does not always work, and sometimes has severe side effects. I believe the surgery is not regulated, so many of the side effects go unreported. I read an article about it in the Wall Street Journal a few years ago. It was scary.

I got bifocals last year (I'm also nearsighted and have an astygmatism in one eye), and they seem to work fine for me.

I'm glad you didn't have Lasik surgery. I know it's fine for most people, but for a small percent (larger than what's reported) it has terrible repurcussions.

I know, I have this fear that that would be me. If it gets to the point where I really can't get glasses to work for me (there's this big disparity between the vision in my two eyes), I'll go there. But I'd really rather now.

Thanks, Debbie!

Congratulations on your finished revisions.... I hear you on Lasik: terrified, but when I'm squinting to make out who that is waving at me across the street....

Can't wait to see your new glasses.

I had lasik (yes totally creepy) and LOVE it. It's about 15 minutes of utter self talk to keep one sane, but totally worth it.
And yay for being DONE with your revisions! I can't wait to buy it.

I'll hold onto this, if I end up going for it, PJ. Thanks!

And thanks for the congrats. :)
