I downloaded the Zelda files off of Limewire. They were taken from a Japanese-only release The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Hyrule Orchestra
( ... )
Wow, you're a fountain of information on this topic.
Hmm. You're right on the expensive part. What I didn't know until now is when I say that I like Nintendo 64 music, what I really should be saying is that I like Koji Kondo's music (I didn't realize that this guy has been composing famous Nintendo songs exclusively since the beginning of time).
For the price of the albums, I'm thinking you have it right to sample them first with something like LimeWire (mmm... tangy). But I am truly sold on The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Hyrule Orchestra (we did use Gerudo Valley for our wedding march, after all), so I should probably go about finding a legitimite copy.
One N64 song that I'm unsure of it's origins is blastsim (you know, the crazy banjo song from Blastcorp (sp?)). Anyway, good stuff.
