we need to purchase a mattress and i was wondering if any of you ladies wanted to give us some input or advice.

i’m also curious to know what mattress everyone own, why, if you love it and how much do you think we should expect to pay. we are willing to spend what i think is a large amount but i wonder if that really = a better night sleep, you

We have either a Serta or a Sealy (the one with the lambs in the commercials) and LOVE it! We went to a mattress place and tried them all out for firmness. We got a very firm mattress with a pillowtop as S wants it soft and I need it firm. Our set is a King, bought for $1100 CND ... we got ours at a mix and match sale. Basically the boxspring doesn't match the mattress, then again it is all covered by bedding so who cares, it saved us a bunch.

We bought ours from a local matress factory that makes their own. It was way cheaper than buying a Simmons or anything. Ours is a pillow top king and was maybe $400 (I'm trying to remember--we bought it 3 years ago) We *love* it and haven't had any problems with it!

I have to look and see what brand it is, but I took my Macy's credit from all the shower gift duplicates I returned to them, tested a bunch and ended up buying a great firm pillowtop mattress and boxspring.

What kind of mattress you need depends on a lot.

We have a bed that doesn't need a boxspring. So we ende dup getting rid of ours because it was redundant. Our mattress is firm with a soft pillowtop on one side. The "luxury" ones have pillow on both sides so you can flip the mattress annually and have even wear on it.

Our queen set was about $1000 on sale (you know, the One Day Sale Macys has every month).

we have a king ostereopedic firm. hubby says its not firm enough, i like it. we've had it for close to 3 years now (wedding pressie from my parents) we looked at the sleep number bed, i wasn't too impressed as the pillowtop is too fluffy for my tastes. i really liked the silver legacy mattress :)

how are you lady?
