need the 411 on mattresses

we need to purchase a mattress and i was wondering if any of you ladies wanted to give us some input or advice.

i’m also curious to know what mattress everyone own, why, if you love it and how much do you think we should expect to pay. we are willing to spend what i think is a large amount but i wonder if that really = a better night sleep, you

Macys has a mattress sale in the summer so i would look for that..(only time to buy as these are normal prices- 50% off)

I bought a Beauty rest from Simmons because i liked the idea of individual coils with a soft top (i didn't get the extra fluffy pillow top kind because i didn't want it to get a body impression and have lumps). on top of that i have a foam mattress (the one that adjusts to your back) and i must say our bed is nicer than any hotel. the foam and mattress combo is fantastic - i bought foam on overstock.com i believe for $99. so when you feel like its not working you can just get a new topper (versus being stuck with a lumpy pillow top)

I did hear Sealy's are better for sex because they are bouncy but i'm sure that's a personal preference!

Make sure you think about your bed height before buying or you will have to do a running leap with some of the new mattresses and also rebuy all your sheets because they are "very deep" beds. the way to adjust is to get a half size box spring if you don't like tall beds..
