Alive, she cried!

Hello, Live Journal. How have you been? I'm sorry I spend so much time actively avoiding you these days. But you make me kinda sad. You aren't what you used to be, and I'm not who I used to be, and I don't really know what to do with you any more. So let's just talk about where we are now for a bit, okay ( Read more... )

This is so true for me too. I've had a slight fannish resurgence lately, but realized that everything moved on without me... it's a bit of spooky feeling. Looking back through my LJ or old friends' LJs is a little like walking through relics, now.

My first exposure to Tom Hiddleston was when lady_razzle dragged me to Coriolanus the day I got to London. needless to say...he left an impression. :)

I'm not even reading much fic lately. I'm still watching shows, but it's like I've completely disconnected from fandom.

Coriolanus was so amazing, wasn't it? I wish I'd seen it live, but I am forever grateful that so many UK plays are being broadcast in cinemas over here now. I was able to see it at the National Shakespeare Theater. Huge talent, and by all accounts an absolutely wonderful person as well.

I was supposed to go to the National Shakespeare Theatre showing but I accidentally double booked myself. It's only a couple blocks from my work, too! Oh well. I did get to see it in person so I certainly didn't miss out!

Yes, he seems so lovely. <3

I wrote a fic for camelot remix - my first in a long time. I read a few, too. Not often, though. I miss being fannish sometimes, though! It was a huge part of my life for almost two decades. It's weird to not have it. But I am doing fine, watching various media, just not fannish.

I'll have to go look for your fic! I miss Merlin so much.

well, hello! what to say, change is inevitable..just think about all the new shows out there!
Tom Hiddleston? I ADORE him, what's not to like? he's gorgeous, kind and incredible when acting! I got Thor in dvd because of Branagh's directing it, and I ended Loki-biased: Tom portraited a wonderful, fragile Loki; the same for Wallander (UK); and have you seen him in The Hollow Crown?! He's good as Prince Hal, but Oh My!, what a great Henry V!!! since then, I searched for his early works too and can't wait for Only Lovers Left Alive here! I just hope there'll be a dvd for Coriolanus! *sigh*

I saw the First part of the Hollow Crown series, Richard II with Ben Whishaw, but didn't see the rest. I got the whole set for Xmas though, so I'm looking forward to sitting down and watching all of it soon. :) Also, I want to see Midnight in Paris, where I hear he plays F. Scott Fitzgerald. That should be all kinds of lovely!

I'm here, and on FB and Twitter and Tumblr, and between all of those I am overwhelmed and have stopped posting much anywhere! Also, life does get in the way at times. Oh well.

To answer your question....I'm watching Sherlock, Elementary, Musketeers, Game of Thrones, Sleepy Hollow. There's a few more shows I've been meaning to watch but I never seem to get around to them. I did watch the first ep of Fargo but decided it was not my thing.

And I have seen Only Lovers Left Alive. What a beautiful beautiful film - loved it.

And of course there's the Hobbit...I equally excited about the third movie and dreading it because that will finally be the end of Middle Earth on film.

I only make sporadic sweeps through tumblr when I need some pretty. I don't interact there though, and I miss the conversations that used to happen here. Most of my time is on FB, since that's where the biggest cross section of family/friends are. Mom gets worried if I don't post there regularly. ;)

Sleepy Hollow is on my list, too. I forgot about that once since it's been in hiatus so long now. Also forgot about Blacklist. And I have some of the same feels about The Hobbit. I thought of you recently when Craig Parker turned up on NCIS!

I'm still here but feeling very fannishly disconnected at the moment. We've just got a TiVo so I'm partly trying to keep up with it and partly trying to avoid spoilers for shows I haven't watched yet. I seem to be out of step with everything that people are watching, which makes fannish interaction difficult!

Glad you're enjoying Hiddles :)

TiVos and DVRs are the best inventions man has come up with so far. I can't imagine life without them now. We recently got a Roku, which is the next step in being able to watch anything any time. Technology is awesome. :)

Still here, checking posts every couple of days, but feeling so disconnected. Where has that sense of community gone to? Even in the days of newsgroups and YahooGroups, there was discussion. Loads of it! And public discussion. But these days, ::sigh::. We really need to find a common platform again ( ... )

So with you on these observations, especially re: Teen Wolf! I love that Dylan got so much to do this past season, because he's amazing. But where did that cute, fluffy show that we started with disappear to? LOL
Can't wait for the new Doctor! And I have many feels about Once Upon a Time. I think that maybe Robin isn't actually the man with the lion tattoo that Regina is actually meant for. After all, she never did see his face. I'm betting someone else with a tattoo shows up at some point.

I miss London! Maybe next time Mr. Hiddleston does stage, I'll drop in on you and drag you off to the theater again. :)
