good weekend

So this was a good weekend. :) I mean any weekend that starts off with a Liquor Tasting Party is bound to be great. Saturday morning Brandon and I got up early for our trek to Virginia Tech. We got there right after the VT football game started so we went to one of B's fav restaurants to watch it. After that we stopped off at a nice book store.

Sounds fun. You know jimwolfpack and his family are in Dirty Dancing right? They were extras, and you can see them for 2-3 seconds in there

I thought Dirty Dancing was filmed at Lake Lure. Well, at least part of it was. I recall being in about 4th grade and going up there to pose in front of certain things that were in the movie. I distinctly remember having a big 80's bow in my hair and a sweatshirt that fell off my shoulder and probably some tight pants and striking a pose in front of the big outdoor staircase/bridge thing. It wasn't quite the time of my life, but it was cool to think that, ohmygod, Patrick Swayze had been there.

They probably filmed at a whole bunch of places. The actual cabins though... definitely from this place or at least influenced by it. They look exactly the same. Eventually Brandon will probably post the pictures so you all can see.

I love the 80s imagery too. Funny times. :)

The last scene was filmed at Lake Lure, which is what Jeremy's family was in. You can see them two or 3 times in the video, but if you get the special edition and watch some of the extras you can seem them for like another 20 or 30 seconds.
