Days were never easy, but nights were even worse. Rina had been hoping for a quiet evening, but no such luck. A random driver arrived, carrying what looked to be a wolf. She'd never actually gotten to see such a large specimen before.

Once the nurse tranquilized the beast, he was brought into the operation room. A few x-ray's later, she could see the internal bleeding and got to work right away on saving this noble animal. The people who brought the wolf in were informed all would be well and they could go home. Once the operation was complete, she made sure he was bandaged up properly and set into one of the larger cages.

Since her brother was probably still annoyed with her, she decided to spend the night at the hospital and watch over her new, overly large, charge.

So far, his night had been pretty shitty, and that was putting it mildly. Even waking up felt like shit, not that Jin knew what that felt like, but he could imagine what being chewed up and squeezed out felt like, and that was exactly how he felt laying on the floor, still a little groggy, but somehow alive ( ... )

At the howl, Rina made her way back into the recovery room. She'd made a pot of coffee and had ordered take out, since the rest of the staff had gone home for the night. No longer in her lab coat, she pulled her sweater closer to her, since it was a bit chilly in the room. She'd have to adjust the temperature.

"Well! Hello there. Awake I see." She smiled softly, coming over to the cage. He didn't seem to be struggling, so there was no danger of his stitches tearing. Yet. "Are you hungry?" She knelt down on the floor next to the cage.

The howling didn't let up. Jin was pretty sure there was no one around to even come to his aid other than the other dogs in cages. If he couldn't get out, there was no way they could. He was bigger and badder than the average dog, so they didn't stand a chance. The idea of it made him want to cry even more.

Once the door opened, his sound died out a little, paws padding back softly to put himself in the corner back away from where she was. He wasn't sure he recognized her. Yet, she spoke of food, and that was something he could understand in lots of languages.

His ears lifted, but he made no motion to get closer. He wasn't even sure if the food she gave him would be worth eating. It might even be poisoned for all he knew. Yet, he was a wolf. He was an okuri-inu. No one dared to poison them... he'd never been poisoned yet. Then again, he'd never been stuffed in a cage either...
