I'm kind of over student teaching. I wish I had just stayed at elementary school for the whole semester. That was so fun and satisfying. I taught an amazing lesson today to my Music In Our Lives class and my students are not well-behaved enough or open-minded enough to have benefited from it. It's very frustrating. I am so sad that my placement at Nate Perry Elementary is over. I had so much fun. Saying goodbye to the 2nd grade was the hardest because they were definitely my favorite. Since Friday was my last day I bought bagels for all the teachers and flowers for my Kim. She gave me a bracelet and earrings and a $20 gift certificate to the mall. It was ( Read more... )

Today at lunch the art teacher was talking about how the third graders are learning Chinese brush painting and she said that they sit there painting with their bamboo paintbrushes and quietly singing Kang Ding. One of them told her "I think it's my favorite song ever!" Basically it made my life. I am super sad that I only have one more week at NPE ( Read more... )

This morning Katherine knocked on my door at 5:45 to tell me that we had a snow day. She was super excited because it was her first snow day ever.
