I really enjoyed this. I love how the little dragon gets into (and out of) all kinds of mischief, but still believes he is being hayve. Well written. Nice imagery too.

Thanks! I haven't played with the little guy in years, and it was fun (naturally) to spend some time in his scales.

What a mischievous little creature! It was funny how he got into such mischief yet thought he was "being hayve."

I loved this, for so many reasons. I loved the little dragon's distraction by All Things Shiny, I loved that the idea of behaving turned into its own state of whether things were Hayve or not, and I love the revelation at the end that the dragon's name is Kaos. Of course it is!

One of my coworkers' kids used to call him Daddy-man, so I have a special fondness for that name, too. :)

After finishing this, I found I was once again voicing the POV of a child, (crossed with the magical and personality attributes from the D&D Monster Manual). Since dragons can potentially live for centuries, Kaos is practically a baby. And with that comes the simplicity of language comprehension that has a youngster hear a multi-syllable word as a simple sentence -- he knows what "be" means, the other word he figures out from context, and by trial and error. =)

Thanks for your comments and compliments

I liked this a lot -- It felt like D&D mixed with a bit of Princess Bride's framing in the middle. Well done!

It was D&D based, but the PB influence I didn't realize till you pointed it out. =)

thanks!
