This one makes me sad for some of the kids I grew up with and some of the kids I've taught :/ Thankfully, the happy ending does show up sometimes... but sometimes, sadly, it doesn't. Definitely a food for thought piece, and skillfully written.

It is a very sobering thought, when you realise how you can never go back. They're there forever, and you have to put them first, before anything else. Well, you should put them first! Parenting doesn't always come easy.

I remember my first 'high'. It completely blindsided me and then I too drove home (about 30 minutes, on the freeway at night, no less!) Can't say I miss the sensation.

Not proud of the driving impaired. Definitely not doing that again. But it was surreal at the time.
