i love the way aasha explains the joke she liked - how the half-dozen are afraid of seven. hee! it's always interesting (and sometimes really fun) to see how jokes do and don't translate. i really like the world-building, too.
I am kinda world-building piecemeal with these stories. As I come up with something cultural for the eledonks and it's like, "of course, they would do/have that." It's occurred to me that world-building is a bit like making your own sudoku puzzle, in that at some point I can't put this or that story element or cultural aspect in because it doesn't fit with all the other elements I've committed to the puzzle -- everything has to be correct in all directions or the story won't work.
