Thanks! Yup, it's fiction. There isn't an Interstate that goes directly from Effingham, Ill. to Fort Wayne, Ind.

Do you read Seanan McGuire at all, this feels like it could be a part of the world in her "Sparrow Hill Road".

This was lovely, with enough hints that the twist was still huge but reasonable. Really well done.
