Oh,I cannot agree with you about the tornadoes. I refuse, if at all possible, to live in the midwest because of tornadoes. When I lived in Indianapolis, there was a fairly mild one that struck a mile down the road from where I was. It was the scariest thing seeing the rain going absolutely horizontal. Can't say it was falling, cause I doubt it hit the ground.
And then, taking a road trip a few days later, seeing those big metal supports that hold up billboards completely twisted into swizzle sticks... And that was a MILD one.
They are awesome, but for me they are too terrifying to love. But thundertorms I'll agree with. They're awesome and thrilling without thesheer terror.
I completely understand that. I wouldn't want to live anywhere where tornadoes were prevalent. They are just so wild and scary. But I love to see pictures of them and watch stuff about them on TV. I do think it might be fun to chase them in the company of professionals of course. But I sure as heck don't want to see one barreling around in my town!!
I bet that was really scary when you saw one. I truly can't imagine what it would be like seeing something so powerful that you can't control, and not knowing what to do, and then seeing the aftermath of it a few days later and knowing that it was caused by a tornado that wasn't even that strong! Goodness!
