That was so good. It had just the right amount of h and c without going over the top or resolving too easily. Obviously, Neal still has a long way to go at the end of the story, but it still felt like a complete ending. Thanks so much for sharing it!

I liked the idea of leaving them in a very private, tender moment. They don't know what's going to happen down the line, but they don't worry about it and just enjoy the moment and that they have each other. I thought that was a good point for the reader to quietly sneak out of the room and leave them to it. Thanks for reading.

This is an amazing fic. You've really gotten Peter - his pain, his fear and his loneliness down pat. I ached for him even more than I did for poor, abused Neal.

Thank you, it means a lot to hear that. Peter is certainly the hero of the story. His best friend has suddenly become this foreign, broken thing that he doesn't know how to deal with. Poor Peter was pushed out of his comfort zones in every possible direction.

I've read a number of fantastic stories on AO3, but I don't have an account there yet. I didn't know they allowed for large posts. Let me look into it and see if I can figure out the posting process. Thanks for the tip.

You'll have to apply for an AO3 account and it may take time, but it is IS the venue for long fics - you can have a 100,000 character CHAPTER!

Another virtue of Ao3 is that readers can download stores as PDFs and read off-line.

Thank you for another amazing story. Such a beautifully expressed hurt/comfort drama. So many stories leave me outside and totally aware that I am "reading". Your fan-fictions have the ability to draw me in to a point where I am not aware I am reading ... just experiencing the world you have created. "Need" was such an intense journey for Peter and Elizabeth as they struggled to bring back the Neal they love. The ending was perfect. Again thank you! - SK Musings
