Just wondering... )

I read it last year. Or was it the year before? I can't remember. I found it the kind of book I rattled through at the time, thought it was rubbish when I'd finished it and couldn't remember half of what it was about a week later. Same with her other one, Sepulchre.

As for books recs, what are you in the mood for? What sort of genre do you like? *dons librarian hat*

That's exactly it! I raced through it, hoping for something, got nothing, will at least give self brownie points for a few less hours in front of tv shows :)

Ooo my own personal librarian! *grins*
Broad answer is I like most things. To narrow that I do like a good yarn and enjoyed The DaVinci Code, but not Labrinthe, so I like decent writing too.
I'm not terribly fond of sad books or anything too philosophical (Coelho I find hard to concentrate on and Captain Corelli made me almost as ranty as Labrinthe, but at least it was well written and I went and read the follow up book to it.)
I like history (loved Middlesex because of the background chapters), I like drama (I think Fingersmith is one of the best books I've ever read), but I also like a good biography.
I have a huge bookshelf I should be working on. But still want more :D

Hmmm...*thinks*...how are you on medieval history? Because I absolutely love Sharon Penman's books - The Sunne in Splendour is one of the best historical novels I've ever read and will make you absolutely fall in love with Richard III. And if you're into historical slash ;) there's a great book - As Meat Loves Salt - I'd recommend. If you liked Fingersmith I'd recommend any of Sarah Waters' books. And my favourite author of all-time is Pat Conroy - I'd can't recommend Beach Music or The Prince of Tides enough ( ... )

That is an awesome list!
I've read Strange and Norrell and I adored it ♥
There are a few I have been meaning to read too, especially Secret History which you remind me *is* on my bookshelf. Right, that's next then.
(I also have all the Sarah Waters books. Affinity and the WW2 one didn't quite match Fingersmith, but I enjoyed them. Tipping is on my shelf to read.)
You're probably wondering why I asked for suggestions now lol
Thank you very much :)

Ah yes I went looking for Wicked recently, haven't found it yet but it's on my list.
I'll have a look for that other one too.
Thanks :)

Recs for books. I'd recommend The Brutal Art by Jesse Kellerman, personally I think it's better than any of the numerous books both his parents have written. I thought it was brilliant. I hate recommending books though, in case other people hate them. Oh and of course Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil by John Berendt becuase possibly my favourite books ever after Seven Pillars of Wisdom
